The objective was to evaluate the effect of inclusion of babassu pie in sheep feeding on the energy, protein and mineral metabolism, as well as, the effect of collection period on these variables.Twenty males intact sheep were assigned to four treatments, which were inclusion levels babassu pie (zero, 7.5%, 15%, 22.5%) in the diet, according to completely randomized design, in split plot, where the parcels were diets and the subplots the collection times (zero, three, six, nine and twelve hours) with five replications. There was no interaction between inclusion levels babassu pie and collection time for blood concentrations of total protein, albumin, uric acid, urea, triglycerides, phosphorus and magnesium. No effect of collection time on these variables (P0.05). Having regard to behavior presented by the metabolites analyzed, babassu pie can be used by up to 22.5% in sheep diet, since this level of inclusion does not cause metabolic disorders or reduction in energy, protein and mineral metabolism.
