Le Massif central, approche iconographique et archéologique. Une mise au point à propos des couvertures médiévales

Abstract

In the absence of significant excavations, the roofing materials remain poorly known in the Massif Central. Textual sources, such as iconographic images, partly answer the questions, as do the many surveys, and chance discoveries. These weaknesses encourage precise monitoring of the restoration sites: attic, kidneys of the vaults, reuse. Only a broad survey helps to get a correct idea of these materials and their devices.
