THE ACTIVITY OF THE INFLAMMATORY REACTION IN FERTILE AND INFERTILE PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC PROSTATITIS DEPENDING ON THE PRESENCE OF SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS
Abstract
Purpose: to study the activity of local and systemic inflammation in fertile and infertile patients with chronic prostatitis (CP) depending on the presence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).Materials and Methods: we have studied the levels of interleukin-8 and lactoferrin in spermoplasma, C-reactive protein level in the serum at 140 fertile and 140 infertile patients with chronic prostatitis on the background of STIs.Results: the severity of local and systemic inflammatory response in infertile patients with CP was higher than in fertile patients. This indicates an active role of chronic inflammation in the development of infertility in patients with CP, which was confirmed by the presence of correlated interrelations between the presence of infertility and the level of lactoferrin in spermoplasma (r=0,84; p<0,001), level of interleukin-8 in spermoplasma (r=0,49; p<0,001), C-reactive protein level in serum (r=0,6; p<0,001).Summary: traced the role of STI in supporting local and systemic inflammation, as in the group of fertile and infertile group of patients with CP. The severity of local inflammation in the group of infertile patients with CP and STIs was highest.
