The Casamance coastline faces various environmental and socioeconomic problems. These constraints, linked to coastal erosion, submersion, salinisation of rice fields, and the nature of the exploitation of natural resources, have still not been the subject of concerted planning. The aim of this contribution is to identify the environmental and socioeconomic constraints allowing to sketch a development plan for the Casamance coast. To do this, the methodology is based on a documentary review, surveys (questionnaire and interview guide), and the use of satellite imagery. The results made that it possible to make a proposal for strategies for the protection and development of this region, articulated globally around the stabilisation of the sandy spit of Kafah, the prevention of sporadic breaches of the spire of Cape Roxo, the withdrawal of fishing activities of the island of Diogué, conservation and concerted management of the ornithological reserve of Kalissaye, spatialisations of the fishing and seaside tourism areas.
