Arduino-Based Footstep Power Generation using Piezo - Electric Material
Abstract
The main motive of this paper is the generation of electricity when people walk on a floor. Since the beginning of time, man has relied on and utilized energy at a growing pace for basic needs and wellbeing. As a result, numerous sources of energy have been used up and wasted. For densely populated nations like India, where the train stations, temples, and other public spaces are constantly crowded, the proposal for using human locomotion to use waste energy from foot power is crucial and very relevant. The benefits of a piezoelectric energy generator include the fact that it is easy and secure to use, does not cause any difficulties or issue to those using this system which is installed at different places, and is completely secure. When flooring is constructed using piezoelectric technology, the physical energy generated by pressure is captured by floor sensors and that energy is transformed to an electrical charge by piezo transducers, and then stored in batteries and used as a power source. Consider the energy that a person expends, which is squandered when he walks. The energy generated from piezo is preserved in a battery which can be used to charge a mobile phone, smart watches, or any electronic device. In this system, Atmega328 microprocessor is used which includes the Arduino IDE, a USB cable, and an LCD. The usage of this stored energy is restricted by an RFID module, and only authorized users have access to it in order to charge their electronic gadgets. When relay turned on, system get activate for charging mobile phone when we swipe a RFID tag. A person can access power for 60 seconds for one valid RFID tag swipe. This method of generating charge and storing it for later use promotes the growth of clean, green energy while also being considerate of the environment.
