This study documents the performance de Palmerín de Oliva, by Juan Pérez de Montalbán, collating archival data with the critical edition published by Claudia Demattè in 2006. The documentation comes from the accounts of Juan Gómez Mangas, the Paymaster of Works of the Royal Palace. The data make it possible to date the play and describe the circunstances of its performance—modifications to the Queen’s Garden, production expenses, materials that were purchased or rented to construct stage effects, the company that performed the play. The study also proposes Cosme Lotti as the play’s production designer, a profit motive behind the Crown’s opening the royal gardens for public performances, and specific dates and circumstances for another work, La comedia de Merlín.
