Information Resource Reference Publications as a Source of Socio-Economic History of the ХІХ - the beginning of XX century (on the Example of Reference Books Ekaterinoslav Province)

Abstract

The history of publishing of reference books of Ekaterinoslav province is analyzed, data on its compilers are resulted, the structure and the maintenance of these historical sources is considered. Special focuse is on the analysis of materials, which inform about the peculiarities of development of individual settlements, towns and villages of the region. Specific examples show the possibility of using an information resource of reference book to characterize the level industrial boom in Ekaterinoslav province. The features of the level of development of trade relations in the region reflected in the memorial books are defined. It is emphasized the need for comparing reliability and accuracy of the published data of different sources for objective analysis of socio-economic processes in Ukraine.
