1990年至2003年臺灣地區大學校院圖書出版概況：以ISBN/CIP資料庫為基礎 University Publishing in Taiwan from 1990 through 2003: A Survey Based on the ISBN/CIP Database

Abstract

國家圖書館於1989年7月起在臺灣地區全面實施國際標準書號(ISBN)制度，並於翌年2月正式成立國際標準書號中心(以下簡稱該中心)，積極辦理該項編號制度並推動出版品預行編目(CIP)作業，為我國圖書出版品標準化與國際化開創了一個新的里程碑。本文即以該中心正式籌辦ISBN編碼作業至2003年12月底止，各大學校院成立之出版社或以校內各單位名義，向該中心申請ISBN/CIP的書目資料為統計基礎，分析比較臺灣地區大學校院圖書出版總「種」數、出版圖書「類別」、申請ISBN/CIP資料之大學校院的分布與特性，以窺探臺灣各大學校院及其所屬單位出版圖書概況。最後，提出如何鼓勵大學校院出版活動的建議事項。The ISBN system has been implemented in Taiwan by the National Central Library since July, 1989. The establishment of the ISBN Center in 1990 is obviously of a fundamental landmark for the standardization and internationalization of publications in Taiwan. The survey based on the ISBN/CIP bibliographical database from the ISBN Center and focused on those ISBN/CIP applicants who were under the name of university press alike or any affiliated departments of university, analyses the number of book titles, subject areas, type of university publishers and other existing features. Several suggestions are given to conclude that universities should endeavor to be a vigorous publishers.
