“Il momento magico”. Concerti e Maratone di danza al “Festival dei Due Mondi” di Spoleto (1967-1977)

Abstract

During the 1970s, the Festival of Spoleto experimented with new formulas for dance shows. Under the names "concerts" and "marathons", composite evenings are staged that welcome dancers and choreographers, mostly young, very different from each other for poetics, technique and training. The essay analyses the Concerti di danza and Maratone di danza staged in a period between 1967 and 1977, questioning above all the meaning that the concepts of "classic" and "modern" turn out to assume in these events.
