Considering archives as part of the social functioning affected by the development of a recognizable court society on a European scale, this postface demonstrates how archives are part of the means of communication implemented by increasingly structured court organizations. It highlights the way in which the case studies collected in this report underline the interactions that archives weave between the court and outside world, between the moment of a political action and the longevity of the monarchy, between court life’s practical management and the challenges of princely representation.
