IMPACTS DU CLIMAT SUR LA SANTE DES ENFANTS DE 0 A 5 ANS DANS LE DEPARTEMENT DE L’OUEME AU SUD EST DU BENIN (AFRIQUE DE L’OUEST)
Abstract
The health of children aged 0 to 5 remains a public health problem linked to the climate problem. The objective of this research is to study the impacts of the climate on the health of children from 0 to 5 years old in the department of Ouémé.The methodological approach used is based on data collection, through documentary research and field surveys, and the processing and analysis of the results through the PEIR model. The questionnaire and the interview guides are the tools used; GPS and adigital camera are the hardware used for data collection. 400 households were surveyed out of a total of 900 households. The results obtained show that temperature alone does not determine the total influence of the evolution of pathologies in the Department of Ouémé, but it seems to have a large part in all the pathologies selected. In addition, there is a correlation between precipitation, relative humidity and malaria, although there are other elements that promote the development of pathologies in children in the Department of Oueme. The results obtained show that temperature alone does not determine the total influence of the evolution of pathologies in the Department of Ouémé but it seems to have a large share in all of the pathologies selected. In addition, there is a correlation between precipitation, relative air humidity and malaria, although there are other elements that promote the development of pathologies in children in the Department of Ouémé.Correlations with climatic and bioclimatic parameters have shown that climate plays an important role in the resurgence of these pathologies.
