Abstract

In the title crystal structure, [Cd(NCS)(NO3)(C11H9N5)]n, the unique CdII ion is coordinated in a distorted pentagonal–bipyramidal environment. The axial thiocyanate ligands act in a μ1,3-bridging mode to connect symmetry-related CdII ions into one-dimensional chains along [010]. In addition, there are intermolecular C—H...O contacts between chains.
