La culminació del constitucionalisme català: les Corts de 1701 i 1705

Abstract

Over the last few years, Catalan historiography has shown the importance of the Courts of 1701-1702 and 1705-1706 in the development of Catalan constitutionalism, especially in the European context. The objective of this text is to synthesize the main contributions that were made, to assess whether it really was the culmination of this process. For this, we will analyse the historical context in which they occurred and the control measures of the royal authority, of the Generalitat, the economic project that was defended, the defence of the individual's civil rights, as well as the role of the nobility.
