Perioperative myocardial infarction: An anesthesiologist’s nightmare!

Abstract

An acute ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in the perioperative period can be challenging. Effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation with multidisciplinary support systems including percutaneous coronary intervention within the recommended times enhances recovery and outcomes. We present a case of a young patient who developed STEMI despite being a low risk for intraoperative major adverse cardiac events.
