Craniofacial Morphology in Unoperated Cleft Lip and Palate
Abstract
Cleft lip and palate patients have normal growth potential. Inadvertent surgery done in early childhood results in maxillary hypoplasia, which manifests in later life. Unoperated cleft lip and palate patients have normal craniofacial morphology when compared to controls of same age and sex, irrespective of the type of cleft. Lateral cephalometric analysis of craniofacial morphology in 22 cases of cleft lip and palate has been studied whose results are being presented.
