EMPLOYMENT OF SECONDARY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION GRADUATES: WHAT ARE THE SPECIFICS?

Abstract

The article deals with the current problem of the secondary vocational education graduates’ entering into the labour market. The secondary vocational education graduate’s employment characteristics are described on the basis of a wide information base analysis, including the results of a large-scale sociological study carried out in 2018 under the direction of the author. The article discusses the main problems faced by secondary vocational education graduates in entering the labour market from the perspective of employers, representatives of employment services, representatives of the education system and the young people themselves; assess the typical problems as compared to other graduates and other job-seekers; defines the characteristics of vocational education graduates as a social group influencing the process and results of employment.
