This paper presents a brief discussion regarding the socialeconomicand education problems of Brazil, basead inan economic vision. The anthropocentricvision would be substituted by a biocentric vision, based upondecological aspects which possess vital importance for themaintenance of environmental balance and, consequently, asbase for the sustentation of the life with minimum standardsof quality for human beings.
