An embedded video monitoring system based on industrial Ethernet was developed according to special requirements of industrial TV monitoring system of coal mine, which takes embedded video server based on Linux operation system as core. In the system, field images collected by cameras are firstly maken process including AD conversion and MPEG4 compression by the embedded video server, then sent into industrial Ethernet through embedded TCP/IP module, and finally displayed in browser of monitoring terminal in the form of Web. The system can also remotely control cradle head and aperture and focal length of the cameras through the monitoring interface. The practical application showed convenience and reliability of the system.
