High strength low alloy steels (HSLA) are preferred in the automotive industry due to their engineering properties such as high strength, light weight and machinability. In this experimental study, the effects of cutting parameters on diameter change and burr height were investigated by using three cutting speeds (18, 26, 34 m / min) and three feed rate (0.05, 0.075, 0.1 mm / rev) values with TiAlN coated and uncoated HSS drills. Drilling operations were carried out in wet conditions and throughout. The experiments were performed according to Taguchi L18 orthogonal experiment design. The results of the experiments were optimized with the help of gray relational analysis method. ANOVA method was used in order to determine the most effective parameter on the process. According to the gray relationship degree value, the most suitable parameters in terms of diameter change and burr height values were determined as uncoated drills, 0.05 mm/rev feed rate and 34 m/min cutting speed.
