From the history of creation of the Encyclopedia of Ukrainian studies

Abstract

The article in the context of socio-political and cultural-historical situation of the mid-twentieth century. the analysis of typological features of a unique reference edition - "encyclopedia of Ukraine". The emphasis is on the history of this project on the history of this project on the actual information that confirm the objectivity and impartiality of the illumination of historical events and outstanding figures of the Ukrainian people. There is also a history of creation and the embodiment of English-language Ukrainian studies publishing reference works - the "Ukraine. A Concise Encyclopedia" (1963-1971) and "Encyclopedia of Ukraine" (1984-1993).
