The geoinformational methodology, in geographic research allows, more and more, the expansion of the research area. At the present, besides the fact that it creates possibilities for rapid realization of complex analyses and correlations, impossible to perform efficiently with classical techniques, it also facilitates the visualization of complex information, spatially referenced to the real geographic coordinates. The first attempts to extend the area under investigation were the basin of the Prut River, the territory adhering to the Republic of Moldova and Romania. The present work includes the spatial estimation of the air temperature and atmospheric precipitations’quantity within the limits of the Moldova Plateau geomorphologic unit. The obtained digital maps on the distribution digital maps on the spatial distribution of climatic parameters within this area are based on the information matrix, elaborated on the basis of a homogeneous series of data (1961–2016), recorded by the meteorological stations from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. By developing the Numerical Relief Model for this area, obtaining share of influence of physical-geographical factors, namely geographic latitude and absolute altitude, for the first time it was possible to carry out the digital maps on the spatial distribution of climatic parameters within this area. The quality of spatial interpolation, is argued by the level of significance of each physico-geographic factor introduced in the model, as well as of the model as a whole.
