Composition of vespid wasps (Hymenoptera, Vespidae) in the Baitag Bogd Mountains with a first record of Symmorphus murarius (Linnaeus 1758) in Mongolia

Abstract

Fourteen vespid wasp species are listed from the Baitag Bogd Mountains, representing three subfamilies and nine genera. Of these, 13 species are new for the region and one species, Symmorphus murarius (Linnaeus, 1758), is new for Mongolia. The data include specimen information (number, sex, location, habitat if available, date and collector), previous records in Mongolia (by province), and distribution ranges of the species.
