Effects of sucorse and light on ribulose-1, 5-bisphosphate carboxylase activity and gas exchange in strawberry plantlets in vitro
Abstract
Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch. cv. Fengxiang) plantlets were cultured under different light intensities on half-strength MS media with different sucrose concentrantions for 6 weeks. The net photosynthetic rate (Pn), initial rubisco activity and total rubisco activity increased with decrease in sucrose concentrantion in medium and increased with increase in light intensity during the culture. Addition of the ATP (20 μg/g) to half-strength MS medium caused enhancement in Pn, initial rubisco activity and total rubisco activity of plantlets whihe the addition of TPT (5 μg/g) led to the contrary.
