THE ISSUE OF DISCOVERING THE LEADERSHIP POSITION IN THE COURSE OF CONTEXTUAL PRACTICAL TRAINING AND INTERNSHIP OF FUTURE MASTERS IN MANAGEMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
The article describes the essence of such concepts as «leader» and «leadership». It has been proved that among the qualities of successful contemporary leaders moral or humanistic features has given way to material, financial and economic ones. This fact has necessitated their consideration in the general picture of top professional competences. At the empirical level such a generalization offers a promising tool because managers’ leadership should become a model of entrepreneurship, innovation and risk-taking, a model of efficient organization of case management, being cost-effective on the market of educational services. It is obvious that leadership qualities of future managers in education can be formed only on condition if they acquire relevant practical experience through taking independent decisions in the field of financial and economic relations of educational institutions. Such experience is provided to the students getting their Master’s Degree, Specialty 073 - Management (Educational Programme - Educational Institution Management) within the framework of practical training and internship. The article raises the issue of students’ academic mobility. The international exchange programmes of the European Union and United States in the presented list, allow students to get international experience, promote innovative ideas for economic independence of educational institutions and their development. Unfortunately, their extrapolation on the Ukrainian realities is challenging and problematic: age restrictions of most programmes limit the possibilities of mature students. In fact, project developers consider 1st-3rd year students getting their bachelor’s degree as their target group, which can be explained by the political reasons and views of the European Union countries on young students’ emigration. This process, stimulated by visa-free regime between the countries of the European Union, is becoming more widespread. The only remaining challenge on the way to such emigration is lack of English language proficiency, which is a prerequisite for all the mobility programmes.
