To achieve safety, accessibility, and technical compatibility in the operation of rail systems, technical specifications for interoperability are adopted to be complied with. This paper presents a study of the essential interoperability requirement ʺStructure Gaugeʺ within the framework of the regulations applicable to new, upgraded, or renewed infrastructure in the rail system within the European Union.
