Environnement et droit(s) dans la ville à Buenos Aires
Abstract
This article based on the study of conflict situations examines the debates on people’s rights in the city of Buenos Aires. We analyze different modalities of relations between the environment—considered as a value, but also as a framework for action—and other domains of urban public action. We first analyze the ambivalent nature of the effects of the judicialization of the environmental issue, then the tensions between housing rights and environmental risks on the one hand, and the protection of parks and natural spaces on the other, and finally the attempts of environmental associations to influence the modalities of urban expansion by protecting wetlands.
