Le soin en psychiatrie dans la France des années 1930
Abstract
The article proposes three manners of making the history of the relation of care by using history of psychiatry in the years 1930 and more particularly the history of the schizophrenic patients. The first way is to introduce new actors into the historical account like the nurses which training manuals and institutional observations show which design of the care is dominant at that time. The second way is to question the militant dimension (particularly religious dimension) of care in hospital institutions. The third way is to include as well as possible the thinking of the patient in this relation. The handbooks of years 1930 show a renewal of the speech on the care in link with the formation of a new generation of nurses by reforming psychiatrists. On the contrary, the care of the schizophrenic people who are subjected to a therapeutic obsession and forms of social exclusion seems a negation of this ideal of care.
