Notes on health in field records of Physical Education trainees in early Childhood Education
Abstract
The health is a state of well-being inherent to every human being and is a fundamental right in childhood and at all stages of life. The practice of Physical Education in childhood contributes to the promotion of health and this interface, child education and health, has been increasingly discussed in the training of Physical Education professionals. This study aimed to verify how health is approached by Physical Education trainees in Early Childhood Education. With this, a documentary research was carried out, of a qualitative nature, in which the final reports of students of the Physical Education course at the Federal University of Tocantins in the academic years of 2018 and 2019 were analyzed, making a total of 33 reports. Data analysis, discussion and interpretation were performed according to the Content Analysis technique, in which four categories emerged, namely: playing, hygiene, food and body care during classes. In this way, it was possible to identify different interpretations of health, based mainly on the idea of disease prevention, promotion of hygiene behaviors, as well as body care / movement contingency in school times and spaces. It is inferred, therefore, the need to reframe the concept of health in studies with children, contemplating educational issues that cover physical, emotional, social and environmental well-being.
