Conclusions: hemorrhoid ligation is a simple, safe, comfortable and effective method, the possibility of performing this technique on an outpatient basis offered great social, economic advantages for both the patient and the hospital, the use of this technique in mucosal prolapses, the manufacture of bands results in great economic savings, the generalization of this method to all hospitals in the country, would involve the substitution of imported goods and the intake of medications.
