Patients and glaucoma: what are the challenges?

Abstract

Mohammed Abdull is the head of the ophthalmology department at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching hospital in Bauchi, Bauchi State, Nigeria, and is studying for a PhD at the International Centre for Eye Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. His field research, conducted in Bauchi, is aimed at understanding how people’s awareness of glaucoma relates to the severity of glaucoma they have when they arrive at the hospital as well as their ability to manage the disease.
