“Ithaka” is a choreographic artistic creation which forms part of the Creative Europe program. This piece was performed on 29 November 2019 at Los Jeronimos Campus within the Catholic University of Saint Anthony in Murcia. This choreographic piece is inspired on the poem that goes by the same name, by Constantino Petrou Cavafis, which is, in turn, based on Homer’s Odyssey; the epic Greek poem, composed of 24 books, attributed to the Greek poet and dated to the 8th century BC. A search and a journey are themes that are addressed in both works and are part of the process of rediscovering human identity. Contemporary dance is the language and means of expression that unites the interpreters with the scene and narrative from the poet’s work.
