Upcycling glycerol can substantially contribute to circular carbon economy. Here, an amino acid-functionalized graphene organocatalyst with high acidity converts glycerol and biooil wastes into high-value chemicals and fuels, even at low temperatures, advancing the state-of-the-art in sustainable carbon valorization technologies and circular economy.
