ENERGY AND ITS CONSERVATION. APPLICATION IN A PROBLEMATIC SITUATION

Abstract

From investigations developed in the 1980's decade about the teaching of work and energy, some texts of frequent use have been modified. It is presented a problematic situation that may help to understand the conservation of energy in which we consider: the election of different limits for the system, the movement of the mass center, the internal movements and the internal energy for the system of particles. The problem could be proposed to students of basic university mechanics courses. It is developed a complete solution that may be taken into account as an example of the application of the before mentioned concepts that, we hope, could be of great use for other teachers.
