Abstract

This article investigates the current state of the Literary Theory, based on a critical discussion of its conquests and directions. Therefore, a dialogue with various tendencies in theoretical thinking is proposed here, emphasizing the literary trends that focus on the issues concerning memory, identity, politics and globalization. Thus, this introductory study of the contemporary tendencies will guide the critical debate derived from the discussions promoted by literature, in particular, and by the artistic phenomena, in general.
