PIDOTIMOD: ACTION MECHANISM AND EFFICIENCY IN THE EVENT OF RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS

Abstract

The authors have analyzed the studies of the mechanism of action of a new immunomodulator — pidotimod. They also howed the differently directed actions of the immunomodulator on the innate and adaptive immunity. Based on the previous fundamental studies, researchers proposed a new concept of molecular and cellular mechanisms of action of pidotimod. They presented the results of the international studies of the pidotimod preventive and therapeutic efficiency in the children with the recurrent respiratory infections.Key words: immunomodulator, acute respiratory infections, children.
