Incidence and severity of phosphorus deficiency symptoms in the strawberry crop under the conditions of Pamplona, Colombia

Abstract

Phosphorus is one of the essential macronutrients in vegetable nutrition and often not very available in the rhizosphere. The deficiency of this element in the strawberry causes serious effects in its production. In the municipality of Pamplona (Colombia) this species constitutes the second productive line and symptoms of phosphorus deficiency have frequently been observed, for which reason an investigation was carried out to determine the incidence and severity of damage to the crop. An incidence of 37.59% and a severity of phosphorus deficiency symptoms of 12.34% were found in this municipality.
