Sports talent scoutingfor junior high school students is an important step to find out students' interests and talents in sports, so that it can be identified precisely whether students are talented in sports or not. This study aims to determine the identification of sports talent and potential possessed by junior high school students in Boyolali Regency. This research is a descriptive research with quantitative analysis. In this study, the population was junior high school students in Boyolali Regency, totaling 400 students. The analysis technique used in this research is total sampling. The data collected in this study was in the form of an aptitude scouting test consisting of ten sports research tests, namely sitting height, body height, arm span, body weight, throwing a basketball, throwing and catching a tennis ball, running agility, jumping upright, multi-stage running, sprint 40 meters. iAnalysis of the data using the sport search software program. The results showed that scouting talent in sports for iSMP students throughout Boyolali Regency was in the category of sports potential, only 2 students or 0.50%, enough potential in sports as many as 65 students or 16.25% and less sports potential as many as 208 students or 52 .00%, 125 students or 31.25% have no potential in sports. The conclusion from this study is that there are still many students at the junior high school level in Boyolali Regency who are identified as less talented in sports, so there is a need for coaching programs and policies that can facilitate students to be able to develop sports talents more optimally.
