This article aims to present the organization of the activities developed in the Institutional Scholarship and Initiation Program (PIBID) of the State University of Alagoas (UNEAL) from 2018 to 2019, at Monsenhor Macedo State School. in the 3rd grade class in Cartography. There is always an interest in provoking critical thinking in students about teaching provided and applied in the classroom, especially regarding the use of maps in geography classes. This is why the importance of this language is emphasized, so that the subject understands with more meaning the construction, organization and reconstruction of the geographical space. In this sense, the main objective of the project was to make the student understand the factors of the cartographic base working with the information of the contents presented and discussed in the Geography in the classroom. From the imagination, reading and construction of maps it is possible to associate the real world with its representation in Cartography produced in the didactic material and even subtract from it other forms of interpretation. Thus, the work started from the deficiency presented by most students coming from the early grades of elementary school to high school, without understanding the true meaning of geographic information in relation to the teaching-learning of cartography in the classroom. It stands out in the observations collected in this work, as references to the part of the workshops, authors such as ALMEIDA (2011) and SIMIELLI (1991), besides the professor Dr. Ailton Feitosa, in playful activities that are not inserted in the school routine, bringing to the center. from their knowledge what the monotony of the textbook usually conceals.
