“Living in harmony with oneself…” Professor Józef Kargul’s (auto)biographical stories

Abstract

The article presents the autobiographical memories of Professor Józef Kargul – an outstanding teacher, researcher on adult education, academic teacher, for years associated with the University of Wroclaw, University of Zielona Gora and University of Lower Silesia, co-founder and scientific director of the Summer School for Young Researchers on Adult Education and Counsellors and the series “Adult Education Discourses”, functioning today as a scientific journal. Professor Kargul flashbacks to his childhood and youth, talks about his educational and scientific career, important life experiences, key events and important people that have had an impact on his life. He also shares some reflections on the condition of modern science, as well as what he believes is most important in life.
