SARS-CoV-2 and fetal transmission

Abstract

COVID-19 has been a continuing challenge for the entire medical world since SARS-CoV-2 spread rapidly around the globe from the Wuhan region of China. One of the multiple reasons for concern was the one related to the pregnant woman, the influence on the pregnancy, the fetal transmission, the possible teratogenic effects, the evolution of the newborn from the infected mother, the presence of the virus in breast milk. The data from the literature are still controversial, being necessary larger study because the final conclusions are still far from over.
