This paper aims to discuss memory and forgetfulness about the treatment with the knowledge of the fight marajoara in the context of Physical Education classes in the municipality of Soure-Marajó. Field research was carried out with nine teachers working in schools in this municipality. A semi-structured questionnaire was used for interviews with teachers of physical education and content analysis was done as a method to analyze data obtained. The results revealed that most teachers do not deal with the knowledge of the Marajoara fight in their classes. However, the finding did not follow the line of culpability of teachers, but emphasized in greater order as issues related to social memory, historical forgetting and alienation of work. It concludes the importance of culturally rescuing the Marajoara fight as local and global knowledge to flourish its heuristic value in the pedagogical treatment in physical education classes.
