Comparative study of Sulina and Sfântu Gheorghe seaside flora

The seaside flora of Sulina and Sfântu Gheorghe localities was investigated in 2006. In the vegetation periods, a total of 316 plant specimens were identified. At the end of the study we determined that the species belonging to 192 genera and 64 families. Rare and threatened status of the plants in the study area was also listed using a recent publication, 55 species are included in threatened categories and the ratio is 17%. The phytogeographical spectra of the species are as follows: Eurasian 40.82%; Pontic-mediterranean 25%; Circumpolar 9% and other phytogeographical regions 25%. More than 20 percentages are fallow species appeared as a consequence of human activities.
