This paper highlights the contributions of Sir William Osler (1849–1919) to neurology. He conducted extensive neuropathological research, and collaborated with the eminent figures, Silas Weir Mitchell and Harvey Cushing, and many early English neurologists. Osler's publications span a wide array of topics, including Studies on Sydenham's chorea, cerebral palsy (a term he coined), and vascular causes of hemiplegia, epilepsy, neurosyphilis, bacterial endocarditis (coining "Osler's nodes"), and brain research. His preeminent career coincided with the pivotal period when neurology emerged as a science, earning him enduring acclaim in medical history.
