the purpose of this article is to preliminarily show how STS studies would contribute to more plural cultural landscapes of the engineering education. The conditions were investigated first by presenting some of the STS studies that propose plurality in technology, and later considering certain diagnoses concerning the need for change in the form of understanding engineering, the way it’s done and some of the challenges to take into account. The objective of this proposal is to interconnect the areas of the STS, primarily the philosophical areas (reflective and normative) in different methods for teachers training, and on the other hand, including related courses in the curriculum, considering those theoretical and methodological points of view, which include for example, anthropology and ethnographic methods to address some challenges that question the profession and technological projects with respect to controversies, disagreements and barriers to engineering entrepreneurship. Finally, the proposal focuses on the need to promote pluralism when looking at the problems in perspective, and the ability to manage conflicts in the context of Latin American countries.
