VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN REGIONS OF BRAZIL: A VERSION OF MEDIA PARAENSE

The study aimed to analyze violence against women in regions of Brazil narrated by print media Para. Exploratory research, quantitative. 1612 copies were consulted in a regional newspaper, published from August 2006 to December 2010, and selected 974 notes on violence against women. These were included in the study, 956 notes on violence against women residing in other regions of Brazil, regardless of place of birth and age. Of the 956 grades examined, 23,3% narrated violence against women in the Southeast, 3,9% in the Northeast, 2,8% in the South, 1,3% in the Midwest and 68,7% in the region North. Among the results, it was observed that women victims of violence in the states of regions of Brazil were aged between 01 to 20 years, high rates of violence were occurring at the residence where the predominant factor was physical violence. The media of Pará enables vehicular clearly cases of violence against women from other states, stating that these phenomena invade their daily lives, their families and society, intending signal and alert the public authorities and the population in general .
