WAYS OF CULTURAL RENEWAL IN THE RECIFE (1940-50): THE THEATER.

Abstract

Focusing on what happened in the field of theatrical creation, this text seeks to follow the paths of cultural renewal in Recife in the 1940s / 50s. For that reason, he focuses his analysis on the roles played by two groups that emerged in the 1940s, which nevertheless had quite different programs: TAP (Teatro de Amadores de Pernambuco) and TEP (Student Theater of Pernambuco ).
