Policy Development for Promoting Quality - of - Life of Laborers in the Thai Film Industry

Abstract

The study examined policy development for promoting the life quality of laborers in the Thai film Industry. It applied the problem of laborers in the Thai film Industry as a conceptual framework. This qualitative research used in - depth interviews with 5 policy advocates as well as documentary research to collect data, then compared data and synthesizd solutions. The results showed that the Government needs to develop strategies to promoting the life quality of laborers in the Thai film Industry which consists of 4 approaches. - (1) promoting safety standards for film crews, (2) protecting fair working hours for film crews, (3) supporting labor unions in the Thai film industry, and (4) Develop film departments that play a direct role in supervision. The results of the study will support government agencies to review policies with awareness of labor problems based on understanding and long - term solutions.
