The Food Acquisition Program in the municipality of Mauriti/CE (Brazil) has positively influenced agricultural production and healthy eating in schools. In addition to encouraging, it also promotes the commercialization of agricultural products, generating income for family farmers. The objective of the program is to enable healthy food for students in basic education with agroecological products from family agriculture, thus improving the food standard and contributing to the development of the municipality. The present study aimed to analyze the Food Acquisition Program data available at the Mauriti family agriculture secretariat from 2010 to 2014. In the results, it was observed that there was a gradual increase in investment in 2010 for the years 2012 and 2013, due to the increase in the number of producers who participated in the program. In the year 2011, there was a setback since there was no purchase of food made by the Food Acquisition Program program. Therefore, research was justified given the importance of agricultural strengthening for the economy of the region, being verified the relevance of these agricultural and commercial activities for the strengthening of the economy and the growth of investments for the municipality.
