Folk culture can be considered a geographical concept, conceptual narrative and cultural tales that are linked to ecology and it can be seen as a bridge connecting the human relationship between nature and time. Along with the connection of every moment of man with the environment, the beliefs, customs, festivals, and culture of the people of the country. It also gives the truths along with happiness and remorse that portray life to the oral literature. When those who hear the traditional songs, they will sing the lines and forget them. They add new lines and use those lines according to the environment they live in. Majority of the folk literature contains humour as its motif and gives shape to the background of the literature. The traditional thoughts show the life of the Tamil people. It seems a conceptual mirror that connects time and environment. This research paper studies folk ecology that has been employed in Tamil folk songs with a significant aim of exploring it from an ecological perspective.
