Studi Pengelolaan Sampah Berbasis Komunitas pada Kawasan Permukiman Perkotaan di Yogyakarta

Abstract

Facilitation and stimulation of environmentally friendly trash management of community-based 3R pattern deal with the problem of limited infrastructure and undeveloped incentives and disincentives mechanism. Trash management by communities has been developed, but it is not significant yet in both scope and scale of the services. This research is descriptive and qualitative based on primary and secondary data collection. Data analysis refers to the relevant trash regulations. The inferences were made deductively. The analysis shows, through a participatory approach, the community is able to identify, analyze and map out its own problems, potential threats and obstacles on trash problems, and it also finds a solution for the problem as well. In terms of trash management, the community is able to organize themselves in the form of collective activities to solve the trash problem as the higher awareness towards the trash problem and act on the basis of mutual interests.
